Official: Iran not to allow any reconsideration of JCPOA

Official: Iran not to allow any reconsideration of JCPOA
IRNA Supreme Leader's Advisor Ali Akbar Velayati said on Sunday that the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action is an international agreement and Iran strongly rules out any talks about it or revising it.

Velayati made the remarks in a meeting with French Director of International Diplomatic Academy Michel Duclos in Tehran on Sunday.

The Islamic Republic of Iran underlines respecting territorial integrity of all countries in the region, Velayati said.

It seems that the European countries, including France, to adopt much more independent policies to this end, he added.

Iran has always called for fight against terrorism, supporting legal governments and defending the oppressed nations in the region as its principled policies and believes that such a move plays significant role for security and stability of the world, Velayati said.

Once again we underline that in the absence of Iran's firm resistance and its principled policies in the region, all were now witnessing domination of terrorism, Velayati said.

Regional problems have no military solution and it is not possible through supporting terrorist groups, use of force and terrorist measures to change legal governments and there is no doubt that such policy will put peace and stability of the region and the world at risk, he said.

On JCPOA, Velayati said the JCPOA is an international agreement and Iran strongly rules out any negotiations or its revision as it seems that the European countries such as France should adopt much more independent policies in this regard.

Relations between Iran and France are very deeply rooted and the two sides should take more practical steps in broadening bilateral ties and mutual cooperation, he said.

French envoy, for his part, expressed satisfaction over the expansion of relations between the two countries and said France has always supported the JCPOA and mind to broaden allout relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
