President Rouhani back home

IRNA President Hassan Rouhani, who was in New York to attend the 72 meeting of the UN General Assembly, returned home on Thursday.


President Rouhani was welcomed at the airport by First Vice President Eshaq Jahangiri and Advisor to the Supreme Leader for international affairs Ali Akbar Velayati and a number of cabinet ministers.

The president left Tehran for New York on Sunday afternoon and during his stay in New York had meetings with Iranian expatriates residing in the US, interview with CNN, TV Network.

He held meetings on Monday with Bolivian president, secretary general of the UN, prime minister of Sweden, French and Austrian presidents and had a meeting with the US foreign policy think-thank managers.

On Tuesday morning, he met US media directors and then had an exclusive interview with NBC TV Network.

President Rouhani also met with prime minister of Japan and president of Hungary and then went to the UN headquarters to attend contact group meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on Myanmar.

On Tuesday afternoon, Rouhani met with prime ministers of Pakistan, Norway and Belgium and attended a gathering of the US Muslim leaders.

On Wednesday morning, Rouhani talked with prime minister of Britain and then delivered speech in the UNGA meeting.
