IRNA � Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei eceived new chairman and members of Expediency Council, which is an important advisory body in the country, here on Wednesday.

The Supreme Leader appointed new chairman and members of the Council in mid August, 2017.

Iran's Expediency Council was originally set up to resolve differences between the Iranian parliament (Majlis) and the Guardian Council, but its true power lies more in its advisory role to the Supreme Leader.
