Iran rejects Bahrain 'baseless', 'ridiculous' accusations

IRNA Iran Foreign Ministry on Friday rejected Bahrain Interior Ministry baseless and ridiculous accusations and urged the country officials to give up playing blame game.


'Following the human rights organizations revelations on torture of political prisoners in Bahrain, Bahraini officials are using baseless claims against Iran to deviate public opinion from peaceful protests there,' Iran Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi said in reaction to Manama new claim on certain Iranian institutions' interference in Bahrain internal problems.

Qasemi said, 'Iran has never made efforts to destabilize a neighboring country and never provoked violence in any country including Bahrain.'

The Iranian official advised the Bahraini rulers to stop suppression, torture and efforts to deviate peaceful protests of Bahrainin peole and give up using foreign security and military forces to crack down people and instead try to resolve the differences via peaceful dialogue.

Bahraini people have made hundreds of peaceful protests in the past few years to call for reforms in their country's corrupt system, but the ruling Al Khalifa regime, supported by the US and Saudi Arabia has killed and jailed thousands of protestors.
