Lebanese President due in Iran soon: Report

Tasnim Lebanese President Michel Aoun plans to pay an official visit to Iran as part of efforts to deepen Tehran-Beirut relations in all fields, local media reports said on Monday.

Heading a high-ranking delegation, President Aoun will pay a trip to Tehran in the near future at the official invitation of the Islamic Republic, the Arabic-language Al Mayadeen TV reported on Monday.

The exact date of the Lebanese presidents visit to Iran has not been set yet, according to the report.

The report came as Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Jaberi Ansari held talks with Aoun on Monday on a range of issues, including ways to boost the relations between the two countries and the latest developments in the Middle East.

Jaberi Ansari arrived in Beirut on Monday at the invitation of the Lebanese government.
