Switzerland to host Int'l conference on Iran

FNA- Switzerland is slated to host an international conference on Iran in the coming days and after 20 months since the western sanctions on Tehran have been lifted.

Iran's private sector will send a delegation to Switzerland to participate in the International Conference of Iran after 20 months of the lifting of sanctions against Tehran.

The conference will examine the economic situation in Iran 20 months after the implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and the lifting of international sanctions against Iran.

This delegation will travel to Geneva on September 27 to participate in the three-day conference and examine the process of foreign cooperation with Iran.

In a relevant development in early April, Swiss Ambassador to Tehran Giulio Haas voiced his country's willingness to broaden economic and trade relations with Iran.

"Switzerland is ready to expand all-out cooperation, specially in the field of economic and trade fields, with Iran," Haas said.

The Swiss envoy said that the volume of investment by Swiss businessmen in Iran has doubled in recent years.

"During the past four years, the number of Swiss tourists, who have visited Iran, has increased from 5,000 to 15,000," he said, adding, "The two countries enjoy cordial relations in the fields of tourism industry."

"Switzerland is ready to expand all-out cooperation, specially in the field of economic and trade fields, with Iran," Haas said.
