Senior cleric extends condolences on Hojjaji martyrdom

IRNA - Secretary of Iran's Guardian Council Ayatollah Ahmad Jannati here on Saturday condoled with the bereaved family of Iranian military advisor Mohsen Hojjaji who was beheaded by the Daesh terrorist group in Syria.

Jannati said in a message that the Iranian nation is well aware that the country owes its security, stability and peace to great martyrs like Hojjaji.

He added that the Takfiri and Daesh terrorists should know that such criminal acts would not hinder the resistance front, but would make the Iranians and other Muslims across the world more determined to cut the hnds of terrorists and their American and Zionist masters.

Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in a message released on his Instagram account, commemorated the sacrifices of all Iranian military advisors, known in Iran as 'Defenders of Shrines', including Hojjaji, and said that 'they sacrificed their lives to fight the crimes of Takfiri-Terrorists and guarantee security and peace for the oppressed Muslims of the region.'

Following a US strike against the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces (Hashd al-Shaabi), Daesh seized the opportunity to attack the Syrian troops deployed in the borders with Iraq in which Hojjaji was taken hostage by the terrorist group Daesh and beheaded later on camera.
