JCPOA Joint Commission notified on US defaults: MP

IRNA A report on nuclear agreement violations committed by the United States has been submitted to the Joint Commission of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, an Iranian Member of Parliament says.

Ali Reza Rahimi member of Parliament National Security and Foreign Policy Committee said on Sunday that lawmakers have ratified totalities of the bill to counter US adventurous and terrorist activities in the region during a briefing session with Abbas Araqchi, head of the Iranian committee overseeing implementation the nuclear agreement.

Rahimi went on to say that lawmakers discussed the recent move by the US House of Representatives to impose new sanctions on Iran and urged that all Parliament members should give their full support to the bill to ward off US hostile moves.

Echoing Araqchi, he said that the House of Representatives vote for the bill is in violation of Articles 26, 27 and 29 of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

Ministry of Foreign Affairs has sent some documents on the US lack of commitment to the United Nations Security Council, and has done some correspondence with the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, according to another member of the Parliament Committee.

'In a situation that US is not grossly violating the JCPOA, we should devise the bill against Washington in a way that is not considered a breach of the international nuclear deal on Iran's part,' Morteza Saffari Natanzi added.
