Closure of Al-Aqsa Mosque means war against Muslims: Palestinian official

Tasnim Closure of Al-Aqsa mosque by the Zionist regime was declaration of war against all Muslim states and the Islamic Ummah (community), Spokesperson of the Popular Resistance Committees (PRC) in Palestine Abu Mujahid said.

Speaking to Tasnim, the Palestinian official added, every individual member of Islamic Ummah has a duty to show reaction to what is happening in the Al-Aqsa mosque and if not, Muslims will lose the mosque one day.

The Islamic community dignity and honor is linked with the Al-Aqsa Mosque dignity and pride, Abu Mujahid said.

He deplored Israel's continued crimes against Palestinians, adding hat the Palestinian Resistance groups will not remain handcuffed towards continuous crimes against Al-Aqsa Mosque by the Zionist regime.

He underlined the continuation of Al-Quds Intifada, adding that Zionist regime crack down of Palestinian youth is doomed to failure.

The announcement came as at least three Palestinians were killed in clashes in Jerusalem and the West Bank on Friday after Israeli police fired live ammunition, tear gas, and rubber coated bullets to disperse protesters.

Hundreds more were wounded.

Later, three Israelis were also killed in a knife attack in the occupied West Bank illegal settlement of Neve Tsuf late on Friday.

Muslim leaders believe that the metal detectors are part of an Israeli attempt to expand control over the site.

The UN has called for de-escalation of violence and tensions in Jerusalem.

Farhan Haq, the UN spokesman, told reporters on Friday that "ultimately, what is important is for all of the people at the holy sites, including all the worshippers at the holy sites, to feel that their religious liberties are being respected".
