Sputnik News- US Undersecretary of State Thomas Shannon will arrive in Vienna Thursday for talks on the international agreement on Iran's nuclear program, the State Department said in a press release.

Shannon will be accompanied by experts and officials from various US government agencies, the release added.

"Shannon will travel to Vienna, Austria, July 20-22, to lead the US delegation to the Joint Commission meeting of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) regarding Iran�s nuclear program," the release said on Wednesday.

The participants attending the Joint Commission meeting will include the P5+1 � China, France, Russia, the United Kingdom, the United States and Germany � as well as the European Union and Iran.
The JCPOA, which was concluded in July 2015 lifts nuclear-related sanctions imposed on Iran in exchange for assurances that Tehran�s nuclear program will remain peaceful.
