IKCO reports 8% growth in Q1



Financial Tribune - Iran Khodro Group, the largest automaker in the country, says it registered 8% growth y/y in the first quarter of the current fiscal year (March 21- June 21).

A report by the company stated that IKCO manufactured 144,667 vehicles in the first three months, up from 133,906 units in the same period last year, or 10,761 more units, ILNA reported.

The car manufacturer has also seen an uptick in sales with 9,891 more units purchased from the firm during the period.

In sum, 115,896 units were sold by the company in the first quarter of last year, while this years number stands at 125,787 units, up 8.5%.

The data does not mention production and sales figures of the Peugeot 2008 model, which went on pre-sale in the past week, and the locally-assembled Haima S7 SUV.

The data, however, includes other vehicles produced by the firm namely, Peugeot 206, 405, Pars, and its own branded Samand, Soren, Runna and Dena models.

IKCO recently said the Peugeot 2008, Dena+ and face lifted Dacia Logan (sold as a Renault Tondar) will all go on sale in the coming weeks.

Future production figures of the Peugeot 2008 model will be published by the joint venture IKAP, which was created in 2016 by Iran Khodro and Peugeot.
