Yemen Army targets Saudi-backed mercenaries with homegrown missiles

Tasnim Yemens army and popular committees on Tuesday fired homegrown ballistic missiles at a gathering of Saudi-backed mercenaries in the Arab countrys southwestern province of Taiz, inflicting major losses and casualties upon them.

The missile command of the Yemeni army announced that it hit al-Ain military base in Taiz with a new type of domestically-made missile dubbed Zelzal-2, Arabic-language al-Masirah television network reported.

A large group of the militants were killed during the missile attack.

In a separate development, two Saudi soldiers were killed in the al-Alab border crossing in the kingdoms southwestern region of Asir by the snipers of the Yemeni army and popular committees.

The attacks are carried out in retaliation for the continued massacre of civilians by the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen.

Since March 25, 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies have been carrying out airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to the fugitive former President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.

According to Yemens Legal Center of Rights and Development, the Saudi campaign has claimed the lives of over 12,000 Yemenis and left more than 20,000 others wounded.
