US not determined to fight terrorism: Senior official
IRNA - Majlis Speaker Special Aide for International Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said on Tuesday that the US is not resolved in fighting terrorism, but it is deceiving regional states.


He made the remarks in a meeting with Mexicos new ambassador to Iran, Jose Alfonso Zegbe on Tuesday.

Expressing pleasure over upward trend of bilateral ties, he said that the two countries boast numerous capacities which can be used in line with promoting parliamentary exchanges.

Referring to current regional developments, he said that today the biggest challenge facing the Middle East is terrorism that has gained bigger dimensions due to the support of certain states such as Saudi Arabia.

Underlining the need for regular dialogue between political and parliamentary officials of the two countries, he added that Iran welcomes promoting international cooperation in Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU).

Amir-Abdollahian also contended that Majlis is ready to help bolster mutual collaboration and exchange of parliamentary delegations between Iran and Mexico as an opportunity for boosting bilateral relations.

Zegbe, for his part, referred to excellent ties between Iran and Mexico in various sectors, saying that good parliamentary ties can leave positive impact on exchanges in other arenas.

Mexcian parliament welcomes any move in line with enhancing exchanges with Iran, he said.

As to current crises in the Middle East and Latin America, Mexican envoy said that dialogue and negotiation between political groups can help solve regional challenges and end conflicts.

He also condemned recent terrorist attack in Tehran and expressed condolences over martyrdom of a number of Iranian citizens and Majlsi staff.
