Zarif: Iran to supply humanitarian aid for Qatar

IRNA Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said Iran will supply humanitarian aids for Qatar.

Zarif made the remarks in a meeting with Former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan held on the sidelines of the Oslo Forum on Tuesday.

He pointed to the pressures imposed on Qatar by Saudi Arabia, saying that Iran is to provide required aids for Qatari people.

Annan also addressed the meeting, noting that in case of deterioration of the regional condition all countries will be losers.

The recent presidential (May 19) elections in Iran has signaled required message to West, said Annan.

During the meeting both sides discussed developments in the regional countries such as Qatar and Syria.

Zarif left Tehran for Norway on Monday to take part in Oslo Forum 2017 June 13-14.

The top Iranian diplomat also exchanged views on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) with the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini at Oslo Grand Hotel.

Two-day Oslo Forum was also attended by US former Secretary of States John Kerry as well as a number of foreign ministers from different countries.
