Iran never to violate JCPOA unilaterally: Zarif
IRNA Visiting Foreign Minister of Iran Mohammad Javad Zarif stressed on Monday that Iran will never breach the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).


He made the remarks in an hour-long meeting with the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini which was held at Oslo Grand Hotel.

Zarif is in the Norwegian capital to attend the15th Annual International Retreat of Mediators and Peace Process Actors in Oslo Forum.

In his meeting with Mogherini the two discussed issues of mutual interests including major international and regional developments and the landmark nuclear deal which was made in 2015 between Iran and the six major world powers (five permanent members of the UN Security Council and Germany).

Meanwhile, The EU foreign policy chief stressed in the meeting that the Union is committed to its responsibility for implementation of the JCPOA.

The two sides also exchanged views on political situation of the regional states, Qatar and Syria in particular stressing the need to settle the present tensions through dialogue.

Zarif and Mogherini also discussed the possibility of beginning serious talks and practical cooperation over issues of Tehran-EU mutual interests in the Persian Gulf region.

Zarif is in Oslo on the invitation of the Norwegian government. Earlier in the day, he held talks with his Norwegian and Indonesian counterparts.
