IAEA's Board of Governors meeting kicks off in Vienna

IRNA International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Board of Governors Seasonal Meeting started work in Vienna on Monday.

The meeting will run until June 16 and it is being held behind the closed doors.

Reviewing the IAEA Director-General Yukiya Amanos new report on Iran is on the agenda of the meeting.

Different issues such as the 2016 IAEA annual report, 2016 technical cooperation report, implementing safeguards agreements in People's Republic of Korea and implementation of the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) safeguards agreements in Syria are among topics to be discussed during the meeting.

The second report of the IAEA titled as Verification and Monitoring in the Islamic Republic of Iran in line with the United Nations Security Council resolution 2231 was published on June 2 and was sent to Board of Governors.

The report once again stressed on the fact that Iran is fully committed to the nuclear deal also known as Join Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
