Qatar: PGCC members prefering talks with Iran

IRNA Visiting Qatari Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani said on Saturday that Persian Gulf Cooperation Council (PGCC) member states favor talks with Iran and are interested to have cooperation with the country.

He further noted after a meeting with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov today that Qatari government evaluates cooperation with Iran as positive and it is determined to maintain its ties with the Islamic Republic.

Iran is our neighbor, he said, adding that PGCC countries are keen on negotiations with Iran.

Despite differences among the PGCC member states, their strategic choice is to hold talks with Iran, Qatari top diplomat said.

He also appreciated Irans readiness for solving Arab crisis.

Iran has on several occasions announced that the only way out of disputes is talks and positive interaction among the Arab states in the region.
