FNA- Hundreds of Iranians took to the social media to voice their anger after US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson made use of "Arabian Gulf" instead of "Persian Gulf" during a press conference in Washington on Friday, creating Hashtag #Persian_Gulf.

"There is NO "Arabian Gulf"... It is ONLY one "Persian Gulf". Do Not Forget!," a user said, while another added, "Do you prefer to name "America" as "Union of the American Republics"?"

Another user referred to the history of the United States, saying in a funny message that "whenChristopher Columbus trying to discoverAmerica, Iranians was the owner of Persian Gulf."

A user also posted the image of "Persian Gulf Veterans National Medal" whichis a honorific military medal authorized byUnited States Congresspresented to members of the Armed Forceswho served in a combat zone during thePersian Gulf War, protesting the American diplomat who served as US Foreign Minister at White House.

Iranian high-ranking officials have often stressed the importance of Persian Gulf and three islands of Abu Musa, the Greater Tunb and the Lesser Tunb for Tehran in past decades,blasting several claims made by certain Arab states against Tehran's ownership of the three Persian Gulf islands, warning that such allegations would be harmful to the relers.

As the gap between some Arab states and Qatar has widen,Tillerson on Friday said that the situation in the "Arabian Gulf" over the last few days is troubling to the United States, the region, and to many people who are directly affected, askingSaudi Arabia and its regional allies to ease the blockade of Qatar.

Also, US President Donald Trump on Friday once again accused Qatar of funding terrorism, calling on the Persian Gulf country to stop supporting terrorist activities.

"The nation of Qatar, unfortunately, has historically been a funder of terrorism at a very high level," hesaid at a joint news conference with Romanian President Klaus Iohannis in Washington on Friday, adding that "they have to end that funding."

US President had also on Tuesday accused Qatar of being involved with radicalism, Supporting Saudi Arabia in its new campaign project against Doha after Riyadh along with some Arab states cut their diplomatic ties with the Persian Gulf country.

"During my recent trip to the Middle East I stated that there can no longer be funding of Radical Ideology. Leaders pointed to Qatar - look!," Trump twitted.

Then, US President completely pulled the rug out from under Qatar's feet, writing on his twitter page that "so good to see the Saudi Arabia visit with the King and 50 countries already paying off. They said they would take a hard line on funding extremism, and all reference was pointing to Qatar. Perhaps this will be the beginning of the end to the horror of terrorism!".

Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and the United Arab Emirates on Monday decided to sever diplomatic ties with Qatarone week afterthe Arab Islamic American Summit inRiyadh, accusing Doha ofsupporting terrorist organizations and destabilizing the situation inthe Middle East.

Later, Libya and Maldivesjoined that list of nation to break offdiplomatic relations with Doha.Jordan also announced Wednesday that Amman has decided to reduce its diplomatic status after studying reasons behind the tension between Cairo, Riyadh, Abu Dhabi and Manama with Qatar.

The blockade has included closing all borders, sea lanes and airspace to Qatari traffic, severing diplomatic relations with Doha, and a travel ban between Qatar and the participating states.
