Leader expresses condolence to families of terrorist attacks victims

IRNA Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei in a message on Friday extended his condolences to families who lost their loved ones in Wednesdays twin terrorist attacks in the Iranian capital.

The Leader underscored that the two terrorist attacks at the mausoleum of the late Imam Khomeini, southern Tehran, and the Iranian Parliament (Majlis) that led to the martyrdom and injury of several Iranians in the holy fasting month of Ramadan is a clear indication of the animosity of arrogant powers towards the dignified Iranian people, the Islamic Revolution as well as the late founder of Islamic Revolution, Imam Khomeini.

Ayatollah Khamenei emphasized that such crimes indicate the malevolence and at the same time the humiliation of the perpetrators and instigators.

Such actions are too mean and trivial to damage determination of Iranian people, the Leader said.

He added that the outcome of such actions is not going to be anything less than more hatred towards the United States and its proxies in the region, such as the Saudi government.

The Supreme Leader also reaffirmed Iran's strong determination to continue its path.

Commemorating the martyrs of the twin terrorist attacks, Ayatollah Khamenei also sympathized with the bereaved families of the victims and prayed for their patience and the immediate recovery of those injured in the attacks.

Two terrorist groups attacked mausoleum of the late Imam Khomeini and the Iranian Parliament (Majlis) on Wednesday (June 7) morning, killing 17 people and injuring 52 more.

One of the attackers blew up himself outside Imam Khomeini shrine.

The terrorist group of Daesh (ISIS) has claimed responsibility for the fatal attacks in Tehran.
