Jask oil terminal development on agenda

Financial Tribune- Plans call for laying 1,000 kilometers of oil pipeline from the city of Genaveh in the southern Bushehr Province to the port of Jask in Hormozgan Province to transform Jask into a major oil terminal, deputy director of the project said.

"Laying a 42-inch pipeline is a key part of the Jask oil terminal project with a capacity to store 10 million barrels of crude," Morteza Karami was quoted as saying by IRNA on Sunday. Pointing to the completion of the feasibility studies for the pipeline, he said, "Once completed, 1 million barrels per day of light and heavy crude will be transferred from Genaveh to Jask off the Sea of Oman.

" According to the official, the plan is expected to go on stream within 4 years at an estimated cost of $2 billion. Asked about other oil facilities in Jask, Karami said that constructing crude storage tanks with the capacity to store 10 million barrels is on the agenda.
