IRNA � Majlis speaker Ali Larijani on Saturday congratulated Esmail Haniyeh on his election as new head of the Political Bureau of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas).

In a message to Hamas new chief, Larijani stressed that the Iranian parliament will continue its support for those fighting to liberate the Holy al-Quds.

The Palestinian movement's news agency announced a few days ago that Haniyeh, 54, was elected as the new chief of Hamas replacing Khaled Mashal.
