IRNA – Italian Deputy Foreign Minister Vincenzo Amendola said on Saturday that Rome fully backs the implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), and believes that through expansion of cultural cooperation world problems could be resolved.
He made the remarks in a meeting with Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi in Tehran on Saturday.
Iran has cultural centers in Rome and Milan, he said, adding that promotion of cultural cooperation plays key role in expansion of cooperation.
Italy is to open its cultural institute in Tehran to help broaden cooperation between the two countries, Amendola added.
Rome is determined to back JCPOA, he said while expressing the hope to witness the implementation of the projects inked during the visit of President Rouhani to Italy.
“We have proposed a memorandum of understanding for launching Usance credential line to finance the agreed projects and still wait for the reply and confirmation of the Iranian side,” he said.
Qasemi, for his part, highlighted the expansion of cultural, political and economic cooperation between the two countries, and said through expansion of cultural cooperation many problems of the world could be resolved.
They also reviewed issues of mutual interests along with regional and global developments mainly in Syria.
