Don't blame Assad, blame the PNAC

American Herald Tribune |Tim King: From the opening days of the war in Syria, the US government has been quick to lay blame for grisly and awful civilian deaths on Syrian President Bashar al Assad. US politicians and media pundits have pounded their fists demanded regime change, and they have sounded out repeatedly over alleged war crimes.
If Americans and people in other western nations were really investigating these charges against Assad, they would know that the Syrian government has steadfastly denied having any involvement in the heinous crimes carried out against civilians. But unless Americans happen to listen to journalists and politicians who have actually gone to Syria and viewed what is happening for themselves, they are stuck listening to the two sides of the political aisle in the US who both buy the constant bad press about Syria and Assad without question. Why? Because mainstream western media says so! It only takes a little time to figure out that the US doesn't have reporters on the ground in Syria. The data cited by the US government, Trump specifically, is mostly attributed to postings on social media sites.

The western media constantly refers to something called "The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights" which in reality, is a single Syrian refugee in a London flat named Rami Abdel Rahman. He points fingers at Assad all day while while fully aware that the alternative to the Syrian govt. is another radical, ultra-fundamentalist government of radicals who take their cues from Saudi Arabia, the birthplace of Wahhabism. These anti-Assad people that the Syrian Observatory and the American taxpayers support, bring and enforce things like Sharia law; they suppress women and they hate Shiite's, Christians and Jews with murderous underpinnings.

These Takfiri radicals are directly involved in the acts that are attributed to Syrian national military forces.

In fact, a noted MIT Professor of Science, Technology and National Security, Theodore A. Postol, who previously served as a scientific adviser to the Chief of Naval Operations, says the weapon that caused the horrible chemical injuries earlier this month could not have possibly come from a Syrian jet. The report contains absolutely no evidence that this attack was the result of a munition being dropped from an aircraft, Postol wrote, saying the evidence, is more consistent with the possibility that the munition was placed on the ground rather than dropped from a plane.

Which takes us right back to square one.

Just like at Homs, back in the beginning of the conflict, chemical weapons are being used to maim and murder innocent people expressly for the purpose of blaming the act on the govt. of Assad. It seems impossible that the United States is not squarely in the middle of this murderous plan for regime change at all costs.

Prior to the Obama inspired war in Syria, the nation was at peace and people of all religions flourished. A Christian friend from Damascus always reminds me to this very day, that the Syrian people want Assad. It is a small terrorist minority who oppose his politics, largely because he is from the wrong side of the tracks with his secular national framework.

The war in Syria was wholly manufactured by people who wish to benefit financially from the suffering, death and carnage that always accompanies military conflict. Remember, the Americans attacked Iraq in 2003 over alleged "weapons of mass destruction" of which there was never any proof, and ultimately, absolutely no WMD's.

In an old habit learned and perfected during the Soviet-Afghan war, American politicians and military strategists are quite proficient in funding Muslim religious radicals to carry out their dirty work. First they did it in Libya, toppling the government of Mohmar Gaddafi, and then, after that nation was in the hands of radical Takfiri terrorists, they moved their game, at the urging and with the funding of the Obama Administration, to Syria.

So began a protracted war between the secular govt. of Bashar al Assad and the radical Sunni Wahhabi and Salafist terrorists who the US has funded and armed from the beginning. Most of the terrorists are foreigners, many battled US forces in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Suddenly western media outlets were going after Assad. Syria in fact never did anything to the American people, they never attacked or attempted to undermine anything to do with the USA, yet this becomes the central nation of concern under Obama? Why? I can name more than a dozen countries that carry out horrific crimes against humanity against their own citizens and the US politicians remain dead silent. Countries like Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Burma... they commit atrocious acts against their own people, nothing is said. But Syria? Like Iraq, became a focal point for a very notable reason.

Project for a New American Century

AsHistoryCommons.orgreports, The Project for the New American Century (PNAC), is a neoconservative think tank that was created during the spring of 1997, with membership including but not limited to, US Vice President Cheney, Florida Governor Jeb Bush, Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz, Cheney Chief of Staff I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby, Undersecretary of State John Bolton, Undersecretary of Defense Dov Zakheim, and author Eliot Cohen.

This group seeks to shape a new century favorable to American principles and interests and to achieve a foreign policy that boldly and purposefully promotes American principles abroad. They set out to increase defense spending significantly and to challenge regimes hostile to US interests and values. Finally, the PNAC said they wanted to accept Americas unique role in preserving and extending an international order friendly to our security, our prosperity, and our principles.

Areport issued by PNACcalls for political control of the internet, the subversion of any growth in political power of even close allies, while advocating regime change in China, North Korea, Libya, Syria, Iran and other countries.

If you read the paragraph above and scan the list of names calling for PNAC's vision to become reality, and compare that to where the world stands today, you know why Syria has been so completely demonized. There are no words to express the failure of American media to challenge the patterns the US government has been following whether under a right wing warmonger president like George HW Bush, or his son George W Bush, or their left wing warmonger counterpart, Barack Obama. No words for this new guy, Trump is the most dangerous yet.
