Sputnik - A treaty on Iran nuclear program cannot be changed at this point, the head of the Center for International Education and Research at the Iranian Foreign Ministry said Wednesday, shortly after it became known that US President Donald Trump ordered a review of the deal.





MOSCOW (Sputnik) On Tuesday, US Secretary ofState Rex Tillerson said ina letter toSpeaker ofthe House ofRepresentatives Paul Ryan that while Iran was fulfilling its obligations underthe Joint Comprehensive Plan ofAction (JCPOA), a review was ordered toestablish whether suspension ofanti-Iranian sanctions corresponded toUS security interests.
"I have heard such comments, aboutthe review ofthe deal, before. But it should be noted that it was an international treaty and I think nothing can be modified atthis point," Seyed Kazem Sajjadpour told reporters followinga closed-doors Russian-Iranian meeting atValdai Discussion Club.


Sajjadpour also noted that Iran was fulfilling its obligations underthe deal.

Iran and the P5+1 group ofstates China, France, Russia, the United Kingdom and the United States plus Germany signed the JCPOA agreement, ensuring the peaceful nature ofTehran's nuclear program inreturn forthe gradual lifting ofsanctions.

The agreement came intoforce onJanuary 16, 2016, afterthe International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) submitted a report confirming the readiness ofIran's authorities toimplement the program toreduce the countrys nuclear potential.

In early February, the United States announced news sanctions onIran overits latest missile test.
