Tasnim – Iranian Ambassador to Turkey Mohammad Ebrahim Taherian Fard highlighted recent achievements reached by the Islamic Republic in the defense sector and said the country possesses the highest military technology in the world.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran is enjoying such a situation in the (Middle East) region that its stability and security is admired by everyone,” Taherian Fard said at a ceremony in the Iranian embassy in Turkey to mark Iran’s National Army Day on Tuesday.
“Iran’s high capacities and new achievements in the area of defense have improved our conditions day by day,” he said, adding, “We are equipped with the highest (defense) technology in today’s world”.
He further hailed the military hardware put on display during a military parade in Tehran on Tuesday and said Iran uses the achievements to defend itself and promote stability in the region.
The Iranian Army displayed a broad range of defense equipment in the military parade, including Sayyad-3 (Hunter-3), a homegrown long-range missile used for air defense.
Other military equipment showcased in the parade marking the National Army Day included the S-300 air defense missile system, Zolfaqar tank, personnel carriers, cannons, a wide variety of missiles, radars, missile defense systems, speedboats, torpedoes, military vehicles, and bombs.
Elsewhere, in the country’s southern and northern waters, the Navy’s warships, destroyers, and frigates sailed across the Persian Gulf and the Caspian Sea for parades.
Iranian military experts and technicians have in recent years made great headways in manufacturing a broad range of indigenous equipment, making the armed forces self-sufficient in the defense sphere.
Iran maintains that its military might poses no threat to regional countries, stressing that the Islamic Republic’s defense doctrine is entirely based on deterrence.
