IRNA - A one-day conference on Islamic human rights opened in the Faculty of World Studies of Tehran University here on Saturday.


The conference aims to present an Islamic model for human rights and to prepare an academic ground for eliminating the hegemony of Western human rights concepts and distancing from inaction in the face of this reality.

The Islamic Human Rights Conference will discuss three major related themes: Foundations, Concepts, Distinctive features and Priorities.

Intellectuals from Iran, Britain, Malaysia and the US will present their articles to the conference which will discuss common points and the points of difference as well as the advantages of Islamic human rights in comparison with the dominating Western human rights doctrine.
