Iranian artist’s photos on display in Berlin

Financial Tribune- The KINDL, a center for contemporary art in Berlin, Germany, is presenting the first comprehensive retrospective of the Iranian artist Shirana Shahbazi.

Born in Tehran Shahbazi, 43, is a photographer who studied photography from 1995 to 2000 in Dortmund, Germany, and Zurich, Switzerland. She lives in Zurich.

The exhibition shows a representative selection of photos from very different series that were created in the past ten years, Tavoos Art Magazine website reported.

Titled ‘First Things First’, the exhibit contains 35 works which depicts landscapes, fruits, urban scenes and abstract compositions.

Shahbazi has had several solo exhibitions in Germany, the US and UK among other countries. She has also participated in important group exhibitions at venues such as the Museum of Modern Art in New York (2012), the Kunsthaus Zurich (2008), and the Venice Biennale (2003).

The exhibit opened on April 2 and will continue until August 6.
