American Herald Tribune | Catherine Shakdam: The future of Syria belongs to the Syrian people said US President Donald Trump earlier this week right then and there, in that fleeting moment of political sanity, the world was made to believe that War - the kind that could sweep and burn through everything we hold dear, would be averted, and neocons bile forever diluted in reason.

Like I said, that was earlier this week! Today is Friday (April 7th, 2017) and Mr. Trump ordered a brutal air raid on Syria to revenge the alleged chemical attack, not even the United Nations could bring itself to corroborate, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad was accused of carrying out against his own people.

It took America a short 48 hours to make a case for war against a sovereign nation: Syria, that in no way, shape or form ever threatened the United States, or even remotely challenged Americas national security. If anything, one could argue that it is the US for the past 6 years that has systematically posed an existential threat to the Syrian people by propping those so-called moderates, us, common mortals, have learnt to call Daesh militants.

Americas neocons wanted their war and so they lobbied, and plotted, and threatened when all failed they reverted to their default settings and staged a horrific war crime to sell a greater crime still. The real tragedy is that we have collectively failed to learn from History.

When will we ever learn to look beyond fabrication to see the agenda that is being served? Whose war are we fighting but that of Terror since it is those forces that have opposed Takfirism best that the Free World now seeks to disappear?

Lets not be fooled into believing that the United States of America, the same America that has institutionalised terror and justified the death of tens of thousands of civilians in Iraq during the Bush era, cares for Syrias innocent babies.

Many innocent babies were sold to the terror that is Americas war complex and not a whisper was ever raised in their defense.

There are still many too many, innocent babies sitting in harms way courtesy of the United States love affair with military interventionism. What about we speak their names and demand that they too, be granted the right to a future?

What about we end this insufferable circus of demagoguery soaked in populism? What about we wake up to the reality that is world politics to recognise that the real enemies sit at the helm of our global institutions? What about we grow a spine and learn to discern truths from lies so that future generations would not recoil at the mention of our deeds?

Syria was sold to neoconism so that Saudi Arabia - the grand patron of Terror and Terrors armies, could catch its breath and rally its disbanded demons against the Syrian Arab Army and its allies.

Can we remember in the midst of all this that the real winner of THAT story, THAT set-up, THAT lie that was weaved around all our ears so that we would stand mute to the pressure of tyrants only benefit the Black Flag Army?

Can you not see in Syria the repeat of Iraqs invasion? Need I remind readers that then were were too told that Iraqis had to be saved from themselves and the world protected from those weapons of mass destructions we could never found?

Are we that gullible or is it not rather that we lack courage?

The United States missile strikes on a military airfield in Syria violates international law and represents an act of aggression against a sovereign state under a far-fetched pretext, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Friday.

Whether Mr. Trump realises it or not his executive order served Terrors interests and Terrors interests alone. Whatever lead America unleashed onto Homs this April 7th, 2017 was so that Daesh could be offered the opportunity of a comeback and Damascus ability to self-defend crippled.

The word despicable somewhat does not cut it. Outrage somewhat does not encompass the anger that has bubbled away in Syrias throat as once again its land and the well-being of its people is being forfeited in blood.

Yes, I will admit that my analysis of the situation may somewhat be tainted How can it not when propaganda is spinning its wheel and an entire people is being held ransom to the evil of imperialism? There is only one side in this abominable war on Syria and that is the side of the Syrian people.

Syria is not a concept to be debated in Washington, Tel Aviv or Riyadhs war rooms Syria is a breathing reality whose rights and sovereignty have been denied so that grand criminals could shape a new geopolitical reality.

By playing into the hands of those criminals Mr. Trump just bought himself a dark page in History.

Here is what the BBC wrote in its sad attempt to angle war while hugging impartiality: At least 80 people have been killed in a suspected chemical attack on the rebel-held town of Khan Sheikhoun in north-western Syria.

No one is denying any loss of life what Damascus is denying is the use of chemical agents against its civilians. And no no one really cares what happens to the White Helmets or whether their lungs are struggling getting enough oxygen not when we know whose master those troops serve.

No Oscar will ever cover the stench their hands bought.

President al-Assad needed not to gas Idlib. Why would he? Why would he EVER stand to lose the ground he so stubbornly fought for just before crossing the victory line? Why offer the West an excuse for military interventionism when Daesh was on the merge of a grand evaporating? WHY is the question we should all be asking!

Why now, and why at this particular geopolitical juncture?

It is what War neocons needs so that Rome could be saved. Only I say Rome is already burning.

Rome Im not sure will survive past the end of the decade if it continues to play games it cannot possibly win.

Have you asked yourself why Trumps America could not master more than a few missiles against Syria after the fanfare it unleashed in the media over the necessity to act unilaterally for the good of all peace-loving nations everywhere?

Who are we kidding?

America did what only it could to project a resemblance of military stature. Let me ask you this: when is the last time America really won a war?

And now revisit the notion that a targeted airstrike is all Washington could spare for fear of unveiling its own weaknesses.

Heres another matter to consider. Speaking to reporters on April 6, 2017, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stressed: Putin also sees the attacks on Syria by the US as an attempt to divert the international communitys attention from the numerous casualties among civilians in Iraq The fact of the destruction of all chemical weapons stockpiles has been recorded and confirmed by the OPCW, a specialized UN unit.

The United States is thrashing about the United States actually is doing a lot more than just thrashing it has hit the self-destruct button over its failures to address those lobbies: Israeli and Saudi, that only envision its role as a military lapdog.

Let me summarise the situation in one sentence: Trumps America is no more than a mercenary army sold to military interventionism. Now, who wants to drink that cool-aid?
