Minister: Iran's daily oil output surpasses 3.8mln barrels

FNA- Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh announced on Saturday that the country's daily production of crude oil has exceeded 3.8mln barrels.
"At present, production of oil has surpassed 3.8mln barrels," Zanganeh told FNA.

In relevant remarks earlier this month, a senior official saidthat Iran's crude oil exports hit a record high of nearly 3 million barrels per day.

"The total export of Iran's crude oil exceeded 2.8 million barrels per day in the last two months," Deputy Oil Minister for International Affairs and Trading Amir Hossein Zamaninia said.

He said that this comes as Irans oil exports stood around 1 million bpd during the years when the West intensified sanctions on Iran in 2011 over its nuclear program.

Also, Zangeneh announced in mid March that Iran would considerably increase the volume of its oil exports in 2017.

"Iran is committed to its quota in the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) in 2017 and is determined to continue its export of 3.8 million barrels of oil per day," Zangeneh told reporters.

He said that if OPEC member-states remain committed to their obligations, Iran will not face any problems in exports of its oil.

"The most important approach of the Petroleum Ministry in the framework of the determined policies by the Supreme Leader to implement resistance economy is prioritized in exploitation of joint oil and gas fields," Zangeneh added.
