MNA– Interior Ministry has established a Headquarter responsible for Presidential Elections of 2017 along with 5th City and Village Council elections and midterm Parliamentary elections for some constituencies.
Mr. Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli opened the Headquarters on Saturday along with Ali Asghar Ahmadi, Head of Elections Headquarters in the Ministry. In the ceremony attending were Tehran’s Governor Isa Farhadi and representatives of the Guardian Council.
May 19, 2017 is the designated day for Parliamentary, Presidential, and City and Village Council elections. Potential candidates for City and Village Council would officially register beginning on March 22, with Presidential candidates registration beginning on April 12.
Parliamentary midterm candidates have been registering since February 26; “today is the last day of registration; a record has been set in the number of candidates, with a constituency with 110 registrations alone,” Ali Pourali Motlagh told the press.
