Tasnim � The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Ground Force has established an organization that specializes in using drones in military operations, the commander of the IRGC Ground Force announced.

�We have established a drone center and organization in the IRGC Ground Force which has bases in operational areas,� Brigadier General Mohammad Pakpour said in an interview with the Tasnim News Agency.

The commander added that the IRGC Ground Force Drone Organization carries out the force�s drone missions.

The IRGC Ground Force staged massive military drills in central and eastern Iran earlier this week. The IRGC�s drones were also employed in the military exercises codenamed �Payambar-e Azam 11 (The Great Prophet)�.

Iran is now in possession of a broad range of UAVs which can be used for both civilian and military purposes.

Back in October 2016, Commander of the IRGC�s Aerospace Division Brigadier General Amirali Hajizadeh said that Iran is among the top four countries in the world in the drone industry.

Hajizadeh added that the US is seeking to equal Iran in the production of stealth drones and bombers.
