Larijani urges more awareness of Palestinians' plight

Larijani urges more awareness of Palestinians
MNA Irans Parl. Speaker Ali Larijani, while noting the many attempts by the Israeli regime at diverting the global attention from the Palestinian cause, said the nation today is being doubly oppressed.Addressing the 6th International Conference on Palestinian Intifada held in Tehran, Ali Larijani first referred to the two major issues in Irans Constitution which emphasizes efforts in line with unity among Islamic nations on all fronts, and unsparing efforts for the oppressed and the defense of their righteous struggle.

Without a doubt, the Palestinian people in this time and age are the best example of people being oppressed and need to receive serious support, he said, adding on the other hand, the late Leader of the Islamic Revolution Imam Khomeini in his addresses and also political will has repeatedly highlighted unsparing support for the people of Palestine and their brave campaign against the World Arrogance and this cancerous tumor in the region, the Israeli regime.

The Parliament of the Islamic Republic of Iran has also, in line with those lofty goals, has a legislation in place regarding full support for Palestine, and the holding of this conference is one of the fruits of that legislation, he added.

The Israeli regime has been intensifying its pressure on the Palestinian people by the Knesset ratification, and settlement development on the West Bank, Larijani stressed. On the other hand, the regime is escalating tensions in the region and seeks to cause domestic friction for Islamic countries to the extent where it offers assistance to terrorist groups and seeks to penetrate into regional countries so that they would lose track of the main enemy and replace it with a hypothetical one.

This gathering is being held at this sensitive time to shoulder the heavy responsibility of creating further unity among Muslim actors in support of the Palestinian nation, he stressed.

The 6th International Conference on Palestinian Intifada attended by over 500 foreign guests representing 80 countriesis currently underway from February 21 to 22 in Tehran.
