World sympathizes with families of Plasco victims
January 21, The Iran Project Following the regrettable tragedy of the burning and collapse of Plasco building in Tehran and the martyrdom of a number of devoted firefighters, anumber of worldofficials and firefightershave expressed sympathy with the families of victims and the injured.

The London Fire Brigade, in a tweet, condoled Iranian officials and nation on Palsco tragic event, saying we are sympathizing with the friends and families of the firefighters who have died following the fire and building collapse in Tehran.



The staff of Dublin's fire stations shared sympathy with families of the bereaved families of the victims of the January 19 Plasco Trade Center fire and collapse by attending Iranian embassy in Ireland and presenting a wreath of flowers.

A fire station in North Carolina also extended sympathy to families of Plasco victims via a twitter post with some heartbreaking images of the event.

In a twitter message, California State Redding Fire Chief,Gerry Gray also referred to the Thursday fire and collapse of Tehran's 17-storey Plasco high-rise as 'tragic'.

Russian Emergencies Minister Vladimir Puchkov sent condolence messages to the bereaved families and the Iranian nation as well.

The German embassy in Tehran also expressed its empathy by saying we share the sorrow for those firefighters who have endangered their lives and got injured to fight the blaze in the Plasco building.

Other international high-ranking officials, namely Tajik President Emomali Rahmon, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Khalid al-Qaddumi HAMAS representative in Tehran, President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Prime Minister Binali Yildirim sent condolence messages to Iranians.

Iran's oldest high-rise in downtown Tehran collapsed on Thursday morning following a major fire in the building, leaving many firefighters buried under rubble, some of who are presumed dead.

The tower was inaugurated in 1962 and named after aplastics manufacturing company. It was the tallest building in the city at the time of its construction.It included shopping centers and clothing workshops.
