Iran, Kazakhstan ink 5 cooperation documents
IRNA Iran and Kazakhstan on Thursday signed five documents for bilateral cooperation in various fields including banking, shipping in the Caspian Sea, and tourism activities.


The documents were signed in the presence of President Hassan Rouhani and his Kazakh counterpart Nursultan Nazarbayev in the capital city of Kazakhstan.

The cooperation documents included two joint agreements on livestock quarantine and navigation in the Caspian Sea as well as three Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) for facilitation of tourist exchange between the two countries, fostering bilateral ties in the field of labor and social security affairs and cooperation of the Central Bank of Iran and the National Bank of Kazakhstan for the settlement of bilateral trade.

President Hassan Rouhani arrived in Kazakhstan on Wednesday evening on the second leg of his tour to three regional countries which would later take him to Kyrgyzstan.

On the first leg of his regional tour, the president visited Armenia where he met his Armenian counterpart Serzh Sargsyan.

During his visit to Yerevan, Rouhani attended a meeting of top-ranking delegations of the two countries. He also participated in a joint conference of economic activists of Iran and Armenia.

Iranian and Armenian officials signed five cooperation documents in the presence of the two presidents.
