Iran closes consulates in Turkey following Russian ambassador murder
Sputnik- Iran has closed all of its consulates across Turkey on Tuesday, the Iranian embassy in Ankara said.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) On Monday, Russian Ambassador toTurkey Andrey Karlov was killed bya gunman atan art gallery exhibition opening inAnkara. Three other people were also injured inthe attack. The Russian Foreign Ministry said it considers the attack a terrorist act.

"All consular services inIranian consulates inIstanbul, Trabzon and Erzurum will be closed onTuesday, December 20.

We urge all Iranians toavoid visiting these locations," the embassy said ina statement onits website. The attack came just a day beforeTurkish, Russian and Iranian foreign ministers were due tomeet inMoscow todiscuss settling the Syrian conflict. The Turkish minister arrived inMoscow and decided topress onwith the meeting despitethe attack, stressing that the incident will not impact relations betweenTurkey and Russia.
