Syria: Over 110,000 civilians evacuated from Aleppo city

FNA- Over 110,000 civilians have so far been evacuated from the Eastern districts of Aleppo city since the beginning of the Syrian army's operation to liberate the city from Jeish al-Fatah terrorists, the Russian Peace Coordination Center in Syria announced Tuesday.

According to the Russian Center, some 110,000 civilians, including 44,000 children have been evacuated since the beginning of the Syrian government forces' offensives to liberate the city.

More than 7,000 people have also returned to their homes, the center added.

Based on the Russian centers' reports yesterday and today, over 2,500 militants in Aleppo have laid down arms and turned themselves in to the Damascus officials.

A military source told RIA Novosti earlier today that the Syrian army troops, backed up by popular forces, have started operation to liberate the last militants' strongholds in Eastern Aleppo.

The Russian Center in Syria announced earlier today that almost 7,800 civilians have been evacuated from the Eastern districts of Aleppo city in last 24 hours, while 375 more militants have turned themselves in to the government forces in the city.

"In 24 hours, 7,796 civilians including 3,946 children were evacuated with the support of the Russian reconciliation center from regions of Aleppo which have thus far remained under militants' control. As many as 375 militants have laid down their arms and left for the Western part of the city too," the Russian Center said in a statement.

According to the statement, 16.3 hectares of Eastern Aleppo territory have also been demined.
