Rapid reaction units join war game Southeast of Iran
Tasnim Army rapid reaction forces from different parts of Iran have been deployed to southeast of the country for a large-scale military exercise that kicked off on Sunday.

The Army Ground Force on Sunday started the military exercise, codenamed Muhammad Rasulullah-4 (Muhammad, the Messenger of God) in southeast of Iran.

Rapid reaction units have joined other troops in the drill, which covers an area of more than 220,000 square kilometers, and will last for three days.

Army Ground Force Commander Brigadier General Kiomars Heidari said the drill has been staged in the southeastern zones in order for enhanced synergy with the Navy, which had already staged a war game in the same area.

In separate remarks, Commander of Army Ground Force Airborne Unit General Hooshang Yari said the war game includes choppers, parachute jumps, heliborne operations and aerial rescue missions.

The Iranian armed forces hold routine military drills throughout the year.

In September, Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Hossein Baqeri said there will be no delay or slowdown in the military tests and war games, saying the country has devised comprehensive defensive strategies to counter all threats.
