Supreme Leader condoles demise of Ayat. Mousavi Ardebili

IRNA Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei issued a message on Wednesday condoling on the demise of Iranian religious leader and veteran politician Ayatollah Abdolkarim Mousavi Ardebili.


Ayatollah Khamenei condoled with the family, students and all the lovers and followers of the late Ayatollah Mousavi Ardebili.

The Supreme Leader prayed that the departed soul of Ayatollah Mousavi Ardebili would rest in peace.

Ayatollah Mousavi Ardebili died at a Tehran hospital on Wednesday after falling into a coma as a result of a heart attack on Monday.

He was born in Ardebil on January 28, 1926.

After the Islamic Revolution in 1979, he served several posts in the Islamic Republic of Iran.

He was appointed judiciary chief in 1981 by Late Leader of the Islamic Revolution Imam Khomeini.

In separate messages, several other Iranian officials including, President Hassan Rouhani, Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani, Chairman of the Expediency Council Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, Chairman of the Guardian Council Ayatollah Ahmad Jannati, First Vice-President Eshaq Jahangiri and Foreign Minister Mohammad-avad Zarif condoled the demise of Ayatollah Mousavi Ardebili.
