Fruit exports from Iran above 221,000 tons in H1
TEHRAN- The Islamic Republic of Iran could manage to export 221,764 tons of fruit in the first half of the current Iranian calendar year (March 20- September 21), ISNA reported on Monday.


The exported fruits, valued at over $85.32 million, show 178.98 percent (2.5 folds) increase in terms of weight but 71.58 percent decrease in terms of value, compared to the same period last year.

Iranian fruits destinations included Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Australia, Afghanistan, Albania, Germany, the United Arab Emirates, England, Ukraine, Uganda, U.S., Ireland, Bahrain, Belgium, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Moldavia, China, Ruanda, Japan, Switzerland, Sweden, Iraq, Oman, Russia, France, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Qatar, Canada, Kuwait, Georgia, Poland, Malaysia, Norway, Hungary, the Netherlands, India, and Hong Kong.

As reported, Iran exported $28.5 billion of non-oil goods and services during the first half of the current Iranian calendar 1395.

Irans annual non-oil exports, including exports of services and non-oil goods, should witness a 20 percent rise by the end of the current Iranian calendar year (March 20, 2017) compared to the previous year the Iranian Industry Minister Mohammadreza Nematzadeh said in a ceremony held to celebrate the National Exports Day (October 20), IRNA reported last Thursday.

According to Irans Sixth Five-Year National Development Plan (2016-2021), the country should experience a 15 percent growth in non-oil exports each year, Nematzadeh said.
