Iran nuclear cooperation with EU promising: Head of AEOI

Vienna, Sept 29, IRNA Iran cooperation with the European Union in the field of peaceful nuclear energy is promising, says Ali Akbar Salehi Head of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran.


Speaking to the Islamic Republic News Agency on Thursday, following visiting a nuclear hospital in the Austrian capital Vienna, Salehi referred to Iran's cooperation document with the European countries including Switzerland and said that Iran's cooperation with Europe in the area of peaceful nuclear energy is developing very fast.

Iran has started building two new nuclear power plants in Bushehr in cooperation with the Russian companies, the official added.

Salehi said that Iran is also in talks with Chinese officials to finalize a nuclear deal.

Calling the atmosphere of cooperation between Iran and Europe promising, he noted that Iran has started serious cooperation with Czech Republic, the European Atomic Energy Community (EAEC or Euratom), the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) and Joint European Torus (JET).

Iran has planned to build a nuclear hospital similar to the nuclear hospital in Vienna in the next four to five years, Salehi said.
