Iran holds France accountable for humanitarian crisis in Syria

Tehran, Sept 28, IRNA Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi on Wednesday held French government accountable for the current waves of violence and humanitarian crisis in Syria.

The spokesman made the remarks in reaction to France Foreign Minister Jean Marc Ayrault statement in the UN Security Council meeting appeared on the French newspaper 'The Liberation' calling for Iranian government to use influence with the Syrian government to end the humanitarian crisis in Syria.

Qasemi said that everybody knows that the French government is responsible for flare-up of violence and humanitarian crisis in Syria for the wrong policies they adopted against the Syrian government.

'Unfortunately, the statement of the Foreign Minister, in spite of knowledge, which he should have about the regional developments, is unrealistic and far from expectation.'

Qasemi said that Iran's spiritual influence in the regional countries focused on campaign against criminal terrorists and some western countries, especially France, are familiar with their crimes.

He said that they should reach the initial understanding that they should not ask Iran to use influence with the frontline fighters against terrorism.

It is necessary that the France foreign minister before expressing any feeling or stating any unfair words, study the history of developments in the region in recent decades, especially role of the French statesmen in support of criminals like Saddam Hussein and arming the Iraqi dictator to impose war on Iran and occupation of Kuwait.

Qasemi said that there is no doubt that the current waves of violence and conflicts and warmongerings will present those responsible for war crimes and crimes against humanity in the region and those supporting terrorists in the region and world.
