US insists dialogue with Iran on regional developments

TEHRAN, Sep. 24 (MNA) Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Shamkhani pointed to the US repeated requests to negotiate with Iran on regional developments, calling it a sign of their failure in planning and calculations.Shamkhani made the remarks on Friday, among the families of martyrs and war veterans on the anniversary of Breaking the Siege of Abadan and commemoration of 8 years of Sacred Defense.

Touching upon the facts governing the regional and global equations, including the widespread presence of terrorist elements and terrorist-educating thoughts, Shamkhani said "West'shistorical errors in the use of terrorism as an instrument and promotion of perverted thoughts to counter Islamic and revolutionary thinking as well as double standards in the fight against terrorism, has led to the current precarious situation."

He underlined that US officials have felt threatened by their repeated errors in planning over the regional developments, adding, "what makes Iran to prevent dialogue with US heads lies in their overt and covert support for governments and groups that directly strengthen terrorism."

Shamkhani emphasized the lack of trust inUS is due to its repeated breaches of promises, frequent failure to fulfil obligations, dual approach and conflicting interests with the Islamic Revolution.

Admiral Shamkhani pointed to the need for convergence and synergy of potentials of Islamic countries to counter threats to the Muslim world, and said "unfortunately, overt and covert relations of some reactionary countries with Israel is betrayal of Palestinian cause and the interests of the Muslim world; Muslim nations would not tolerate the continuation of these behaviors."

In response to the latest position of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu oncontinuing restrictions against Iran's nuclear program, Shamkhani noted, "after 10 years of restrictions based on JCPOA, we will never accept any limitation except for Leader's fatwa."
