Najafi: Iran is not satisfied with conduct of parties to JCPOA

Vienna, Sept 21, IRNA Iran's Ambassador to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Reza Najafi said on Wednesday that Iran is not satisfied with conduct of the parties to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

Najafi said that the JCPOA has required the two parties to take reciprocal actions for the settlement of the nuclear dispute and that the other parties to the nuclear accord failed to honor commitments to the sound implementation of the JCPOA.

Elaborating on the IAEA Board of Governors held on Wednesday, he said that the Board of Governors attributed short time to statements about the JCPOA made by the delegates compared to the former meetings over the past several years.

He said that majority of the delegates supported the JCPOA and some others made reservations about the Board of Governors report about JCPOA demanding further details about.

'We stated in our statement and the report released by IAEA indicated that the Islamic Republic of Iran has fully carried out its commitments and made advances with enrichment program and producing heavy water in the context of JCPOA,' he said.

Based on the IAEA Safeguards Agreement and Article V of the Additional Protocol, the IAEA is obliged to preserve the information as concealed and it has been stipulated by the JCPOA that all information gained through inspections should be protected and kept as classified, Najafi said.

He dismissed allegations made by the Israeli representative to the Board of Governors, saying that Tel Aviv regime failed to respect the Non-Proliferation Treaty and the International Conventions including the comprehensive ban on weapons of mass destruction and open up the nuclear sites to the IAEA.

He said that as usual representative of the Israeli regime made repetitive statement and was given due response.

In fact, the fabricated regime hid its nuclear sites from the international inspection posing major threat to the international peace and security and that of the Middle East, Najafi said.
