Iranian official stresses development of Tehran-Hague banking relations

September 10, The Iran Project - Deputy Head of Iran's Chamber of Commerce for International Affairs stresses the promotion of banking ties between Tehran and The Hague.

During the meeting in The Hague, Deputy Head of Iran's Chamber of Commerce for International Affairs Farhad Sharif discussed the ways of developing economic relations between the Islamic Republic and the Netherlands.

Sharif met President of the Federation of Netherlands Employers, talking about the strategic importance of Iran-EU cooperation for regional development that will eradicate terrorism.

They also negotiated the development of Iran-Netherlands' banking ties as a key step to expand the two countries' relations.

The structure of Iran and the Netherlands' Chamber of Commerce were also discussed and it was decided that to examine the investment plans on later talks.

In the meeting, Irans Ambassador to the Netherlands Alireza Jahangiri also pointed to the visit of the Dutch foreign minister to Iran which took place after 14 years and said the Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif also made a visit to the Netherlands after a decade.

The recent visits have laid new foundation of Tehran-Amsterdam relations in all fields, especially economic area, he added

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif who visited the Netherlands in late June called for the facilitation of banking ties between the two countries, saying facilitation of banking affairs for Iranian businessmen can help accelerate development of trade ties between the two countries.
