Iranian women have been given the go-ahead to take part in motorsports, according to the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) citing Mahmud Seydanlu, the Federation�s chairman of motorcyclists and motorists.

�Both the interest and ability demonstrated by�women in�the field has led us to�allow women to�participate in�motorsports,� said Mahmud Seydanlu.

According to�Seydanlu, motorcycling has become available for�women thanks to�the efforts of�Iran�s Ministry of�Sports and Youth. �I truly hope we will witness women take part at�a professional level both in�domestic and international competitions,� said Seydanlu.

Mahmud Seydanlu said that motorsports are an individual activity, and therefore everyone must be tolerant and considerate with�Iran�s culture, moral principles and dress code. �We will make every effort to�provide female athletes with�all the assistance they require,� concluded Seydanlu.
