Tehran, Aug 23, IRNA � President Hassan Rouhani said his cabinet is focusing on implementing the Resistance Economy principles outlined by the Supreme Leader as the motto of the current Iranian year (started March 21).


He made the remarks here on Tuesday after visiting the tomb of the late Founder of the Islamic Republic Imam Khomeini on the eve of the Government Week.

His cabinet members accompanied the President during the visit.

Rouhani outlined the anti-arrogance views of the late Imam and said the way Imam Khomeini used to address enemies including the Zionist regime and its regional allies created such a fear in them that they still keep targeting the Islamic Republic of Iran though 38 has lapsed since those words were uttered.

Noting that for the first in years the inflation rate has dropped to a one-digit 9 percent, the President said presently Iranian oil exports has surpassed the imports after so many years.

He said this meant that his government has been successful in implementing the Resistance Economy policies.

President Rouhani further said that the cabinet was focusing on the Resistance Economy policies which would result in economic prosperity, development, employment and lower unemployment.

He went on to stress that the objective of his government was to attain 5 percent growth this year.
