All Iran-bound terrorists arrested: Senior lawmaker

A senior Iranian lawmaker says terrorists had been dispatched to Iran from Daesh hotspots in Iraq and Syria, adding that all of them have been identified and arrested by Iranian security forces.

Alaeddin Boroujerdi, the chairman of the Iranian Parliament (Majlis)s Committee on National Security and Foreign Policy, made the remarks at a press conference in the Syrian capital Damascus, where he has been on a short visit at the head of a delegation, Fars News Agency reported on Thursday.

The terrorists, he said, had been dispatched from the northern Iraqi city of Mosul and the Syrian city Raqqah, which the Takfiri terrorist group of Daesh has proclaimed as its headquarters in Iraq and Syria respectively.

He did not specifywhen the terrorists had been arrested.

A day earlier, however,Irans Intelligence Ministry had said it had identified 102 members or supporters of the so-called Tawhid and Jihad Takfiri terrorist groups in the western province of Kordestan, which neighbors Iraq. The Ministry said the groups planned attacks, including the assassination of local officials and armed robbery, in the provincial capital city of Sanandaj over the past years.

Back in July, the Ministry said it had foiled a major Takfiri-Wahhabi plot to carry out bomb attacks in the capital, Tehran, and other provinces and arrested suspects.

US has plans for south Syria

Boroujerdi, the Iranian legislator, also said there were outposts in southern Jordan that were being supervised by the United States and used toward the activation of a new front in southern Syria.

Late last month, US Defense Secretary Ashton Carter said the US-led coalition that purports to be fighting Daesh in Iraq and Syria sought to open a new front in southern Syria in addition to its ongoing offensive in the countrys northeast.

The coalition has fallen well short of dislodging Daesh.

Paris meetings attendees politically-bankrupt

Boroujerdi further remarked on a recent activities by the terrorist anti-Iran Mujahedin-e Khalq Organization (MKO) in the French capital of Paris.

A meeting was recently held between the MKOs ringleader Maryam Rajavi and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in Paris. An MKO meeting was also held in the French capital in early July. Saudi Arabias former spymaster, Turki al-Faisal, attended the July meeting and gave a 30-minute speech to express support for the anti-Iran group.

Boroujerdi described those partaking in the meetings as individuals who have suffered political defeat.

The Iranian lawmaker also reiterated Irans stance of continuing to support the government and people of Syria.
