Russia's Mi-8 chopper shot down in Syria

A Russian Mi-8 helicopter has been shot down in Syria's Idlib province on Monday, the Russian Defense Ministry said.





The Russian Defense Ministry is investigating the fate ofthree crew members and two reconciliation center officers who were aboardthe downed aircraft.
"On August 1, a Russian military transport Mi-8 helicopter was shot downfrom the ground en route tothe Hmeimim airbase afterdelivering humanitarian aid tothe city ofAleppo. A crew ofthree and two officers ofthe Russian center forSyrian reconciliation were onboard."


The defense ministry underscored that the fate ofthe Russian servicemen is being investigated throughall available channels.

On July 8, Daesh shot downa Syrian Mi-25 helicopter which was being piloted bytwo Russian officers. The crew received request form the Syrian side tostrike advancing Daesh terrorists and thwarted the assault atthe expense oftheir lives.
