Pakistan, Iran can cope with common concerns collectively: Speaker

Islamabad, July 31, IRNA - Speaker of Pakistan National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said that Tehran and Islamabad with their collective efforts would be able to cope with common challenges and concerns the two countries are facing.

Speaking to IRNA exclusively, the Pakistani official said that Iran is a big country in Asia and extremely important neighbor of Pakistan.

I think the active role they (Iranians) are playing being a democracy, is something that needs to be reflected in other countries also, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said.

He added that he has regular meetings with Iran's Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani and 'we interact and try to increase the relationship between the two parliaments and strengthen bilateral ties.'

The Pakistani official went on to say the recent visit of Pakistans National Security Adviser Nasser Khan Janjua to Iran was extremely important.

We need to fight issues of terrorism and other issues together; individually we will not be successful but collectively we can become a big force that can play a major role in fighting the problems that the two countries are facing and defeat the miscreants that enter our countries, he said.

Pakistan National Assembly speaker also appreciated Larijani for inviting him to visit Tehran and said that he would try to plan the visit in coming months.
