Larijani says Iran has to confront US offensive measures

Tehran, July 20, IRNA Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani criticized United Nations Secretary General's recent report on the implementation of Iran's nuclear deal with the world powers, adding that Iran has to confront US offensive measures.

Addressing the parliament on Wednesday, he said the latest report by the United Nations Secretary General on Irans nuclear commitments contained wrong points which are considered a free fall for both the UN and its chief.

He said the UN reports fails to focus on Irans concerns and complaints about the lack of commitment of other parties involved in the nuclear deal.

He said the spirit of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) is not a fluid thing which could let the Secretary General extract every irrelevant notion from it.

He said there is no word of ballistic missiles in the JCPOA and wondered what plan Iran has undertaken to make the UN chief worry about violation of the JCPOA spirit.

The Speaker said those who make blood bath in Yemen are the ones who are to blame for tension in the region.

He also said those countries which provided terrorists with arms and missiles are responsible for crises in Syria.

He went on to criticize the UN report for not mentioning the US Congress decisions which stand against the spirit of the JCPOA.

Larijani also termed the recent gathering of anti-Iran terrorists in Paris as a source of shame for France which boasts itself of fighting terrorism.

He said it was necessary for western countries to ponder about their own dual-standard policies and actions about the issue of terrorism including the gathering of terrorist Mojahedeen Khalq Organization (MKO) in Paris as well as the remarks made by the silly Saudi official.
